Many insurance companies here will not insure your house if you have a Pit Bull.

In Texas it is illegal to write breed-specific legislation (state law trumps municipal laws). And so far the insurance companies seem to be laying low about not insuring owners of specific breeds. But I don't advertise that I have either of my dogs. And when the insurance company roof adjustor was here to look at my roof in early November I made sure both dogs were out of sight.
