A double-header from two great acts that both shelter in the stable of the'Wild Goose' record label....HECTOR GILCHRIST and VICKI SWAN & JONNY DYER
Hector Gilchrist: A long term performer on the Folk scene, Hector became involved in the 60's revival having moved down from Ayrshire. He guested at venues throughout the UK and Ireland and in the 80's formed the duo Selkie with Liz Thomson,with whom he recorded two CD's on the Wildgoose label Both have been played regularly on Local and National Radio and have been praised in the Folk press. The new solo CD, 'Ingleneuk' also on Wild Goose is a personal choice collection of Scots and contemporary material which has been received with enthusiasm by fans and presenters on National and Regional radio stations.
Vicki Swan and Jonny Dyer: This husband and wife team, are one of the most talented duos on the Folk scene and are in demand at Festivals and Clubs throughout the UK. Vicki is an award winning bassist, expert on the flute as well as the Scottish small pipes. More recently she has added the Swedish Nyckelharpa to her range of instruments.Equally talented Jonny, plays guitar, piano and accordian.Together, they have sympathetically provided the bulk of the accompaniment on Hector's "Ingleneuk" album and they are sought after by other artists for recording sessions and recently worked with George Papavgeris on his new album. Their latest album "Sliptease" is also on the Wild Goose label.
