Of course, none of that matters a whit. Fact of the matter is that, from about NYC north, the coastal states and provinces share a common bond in culture and heritage. Our "natural" trading routes are north-south... east of The Appalaicians... and the same goes for the people. You would be hard pressed to find a Maritimer without some ties to New England.
