Subject: RE: LYR REQ: Them Toad Suckers (Mason Williams)
Many years ago, in my 60's single life, I befriended a delightful young lady who, when she wasn't preparing my herbal tea or slaving away at macrame',collected odd books. One of these was "The Mason Williams Reading Matter," a paperbook with a white cover, as I recall. I borrowed it for a time, but relenquished it after noting "Them Toad Suckers" and a lot of other such material. She very much reminded me of the woman in Gordon Lightfoot's "Susan's Floor." I played a lot of songs on hers. We have long since lost touch, but the book must exist somewhere.

Several years later, I found myself distributing the wines of Tom and Dick Smothers and Pat Paulsen, all of whom I would see, from time to time. I never did meet Mason Williams, though I once knew a studio guitarist who had worked with him.
