Lynne ~ there is a very good book called 'Slow Cooking Properly Explained' that you might pick up somewhere for a few pounds. It is very basic and doesn't have pictures but does explain what sorts of rice to use or what cuts of meat are best etc. There is also a very good little book called something like 'Slow Cooking for Vegaterians' which might be useful.
