You don't need tag editing software - just use Windoze Explorer, and right click on the file you want to edit, select properties, summary, and advanced (in that order - there is another 'advanced' button in the 'General' tab!), and you can edit the tags there very easily. If you want to edit the album, artiste, date etc. on a group of files, hold Ctrl and left click each file you want to include, then right click on the selection.

You'll find you can name the tune differently from the filename, and you can also edit the track number and other useful things.

I have a Creative Zen and a Nomad II, and that's all I've ever needed to do.
