Have found an Otago Tramping Club songbook (which I didn't know I had) - not as good as the VUW one from the 60s though. Anyway, it refreshed my memory. We used the verse I first quoted above as a final verse of "Caviare" - They also include the first verse of of "Eddystone Light", so maybe we included it too. Can't remember.

I had a major panic when I checked for "caviare" in DT, and got no hits - so tried "sturgeon" wheww... NZ/US spellin' gets a bit confusin'
