THE TITANIC SYNCOPATORS with PETA WEBB
The star of the Titanic Syncopators is Peta Webb, one of greatest and most versatile singers of classic old songs in the UK. Her numerous solo projects, duet collaborations and memberships of innovative groups and bands (in various genres) have resulted in many published recordings and albums.

With the Titanic Syncopators Peta sings a range of distinctive songs from the 1920s and 30s, selected for their striking melodies and evocative lyrics, most of which are well known and loved, though we have found some less frequently performed items which our audiences enjoy. Among others we like the music of Fats Waller, the Gershwins, and Walter Donaldson, and people say we "sound authentic like old records" (which we take as a compliment); but we are not deliberately trying to imitate other bands. What we do is what we do.

Tony Engle - saxophone, Bob Winquist - violin, Alan Ward - cornet, Charlie Hewlett - guitar, Peta Webb - vocals, Tony Russell - tenor guitar, Andy Simons - guitar, Ned Clack - tuba

Quite a departure to hear a band like this in a folk club - but also a very exciting evening in prospect
