Everything on earth (and elsewhere) is made out of chemicals. Not just food ~ you and me, too.

Lotsa stuff occurs naturally. Some other stuff is man-made in a laboratory. Sometimes people use the word "chemical" to refer to the latter category only. That may be common usage, but it is not strictly accurate.
