The guest room in my parents' house in Vermont was called the D.A.R. room, because they had decorated it in red, white, & blue and had stenciled the question beginning the national anthem along the top molding. I was told that once my aunt & uncle (my mother's sister & brother-in-law) were put up there for the night, and in the morning my uncle had read it & guffawed, to his wife's embarrassment.
