We have a household joke "Have you ever seen an inorganic loaf?"

In chemistry - organic is the study of substances based on carbon.
Inorganic (= not organic) is everything else - tin, lead, arsenic, nitrogen calcium etc etc.

So inorganic food is largely not possible, since our metabolism is designed to run on carbon based substances.

Supermarkets don't seem to realise the idiocy they have perpetrated - all food can be said to be organic.

But no, I don't eat E-numbers if I can avoid them.
