So often when people pick up guns, toy or real, they feel the need to point them at someone. I was photographing a talk by a Texas Revolution reenactor in the library parlor (meeting room) and he was letting kids hold the rifle. One kid pointed the gun my way and I told him "point that thing up." The reenactor assured me "it's not loaded." Duh. "That doesn't matter," I told him. Next kid comes along, has to point the gun at me. I don't snap often, but I suggested he not hand the gun to kids if he wasn't going to at least tell them not to ever point a gun at people (I left out the spiel about living things, with the exception of game being hunted, etc.) My message was very simple. And from his reaction, it's like I came off being unreasonable. Geez.
