We've had a thread about benign positional vertigo here before but I can't remember the thread title. I'll fish around my postings for it and let you know, but it did get a little off the point.

I was diagnosed with BVP a few years ago. I try to avoid getting into positions where it will trip - lying back in a moving chair does it for me and I throw up rather spectacularly.... usually over the dentist.

Be a bit more aware of your movements and try to make a note of what you were doing when it tripped. Then you can slowly work around the problem, like, chewing gum whilst in a lift - it can work for some people.
