Hi Kids: Yeah. Love 'em all. Jimmy(soul of Jimi). So he's playing Tatoo around "87-"89 with 2 Roland cubes. This was B.D.(before he went digital) and one of the pedals is going on him and he takes it out while the song is playing and just keeps playing....His rig reminded me of Frankenstein's monster. A floor full of pedals all wired together. Wouldn't have surprised me if electrical charges became visible like lightening bolts from the ceiling. ZZZAAAAP! Just wild! I showed him 2 guitars I'd gotten, an Urchin by Aria. So it's one of these outer space heavy metal jobs and he recommends I saw off parts of it which he felt weren't necessary. L.O.L. Then, years later, I show up with my new Strat ('88) and THAT he takes while we're in Jo-Jo's and balances it on his right hand, holding it upright, walking up the aisle. With this wild look in his eyes, laughing...Yo! I was jamming with him one night at Tatoo and I look back at my '69 Super Reverb which is on Vol/4or5 and I couldn't hear it at all! He was LOUD!!!! Oh yeah. When I first came to Canada, just before I got the Super, I met Robert Charlebois' guitar player who had this refrigerator size Amp, I think it was a Traynor. Coming out of folk, I had it on 2 to try it out. The guy looks at me like the R.C.A. dog, like "what are you doing? And CRANKS it. So loud I literally went backwards in the garage where he had it. Hope Jimmy takes care. Last time I spoke to him, he was having a bit of a problem hearing me. Too many years at 7.
Doogie(Dougle) Sure. Rick Whitelaw(ALWAYS laughing) and I went to see him as I remember. Used to go back and forth to Nashville. Great guy. Danny Greenspoon with the big smile. Many nights at The Yellow Door. Murray and Bruce Cockburn too.
{And Beer}. If you're reading this, Carl Rufh was at Ormstown. Love the guy. His wife used to dance by herself while Jimmy was playing. All these years, and I never met Nanette Workman. Love to meet her. If you see her, give her a hug from this stranger she's never met and tell her Thanks for the music. Please...
Back to Ron. Used to catch Nelson Symonds(and his brother) too. And Richard Ringue(hope I spelled it right) Not to forget Peter Leitch, who had a beautiful L-5.
Better sign off, or this will get to be a book...
