Whatever about whatever and whosever version is the best, Paul Brady's is the definitive version and all subsequent versions have been in one way or another influenced by it.

Apropos an earlier question in an earlier thread:
We have at least one mutual friend, and I'm sure more, in the famous vet from Tulla, having lived around Tulla, Feakle, and Ennis for many years. Many's the note I have had with Eoin and Mary and the gang out and about in Clare. I live in Norway now (Oslo) and do my 'thing' over here (playing and writing).
