LONG ISLAND COWBOY
I always thought I'd live in Texas
Where life goes by slow
But I ended up in New York City
Where I run, run, run and try to keep up
CHORUS: What I need is some kind of Long Island cowboy
Riding the L.I.E. like it was a rodeo
Dirty jeans, pickup truck, Long Island cowboy
I need a long ranger to carry me home
All these city boys
With their diamonds and roses
No they can't win my wild heart
I need an honest man
Who can rope 'em and ride 'em
Who knows when to let go
And when to hold on with both hands
CHORUS
And he'd be rough around the edges
O but I don't mind
Just to have him call me sugar
Would be sweeter than wine
CHORUS

This song was written by the female trio Red Molly who have recorded it on their EPK album. The trio consists of Laurie McAllister, Abbie Gardner, & CarolAnn Solabello
For those of you who are not familiar with the geography of the NYC metro area, the L.I.E. is the Long Island Expressway, a heavily trafficked commuter route between Nassau & Suffolk Counties which comprise Long Island, and NYC. It is known affectionately as the world's longest parking lot.
You can hear the entire song on Red Molly's myspace site as well as a video on Youtube done at the Town Crier in Pawling,NY.
