I was chosen by The Ancient Elders Of Eldritchdom and given the Ring Of Power that transformed me into the Magenta Maggot whenever I recited the above bit of poesy in the presence of Something Dead And Rotting (which was usual in the Student Union). There would be a flash of magenta light, a fetid odor, and the Magenta Maggot would appear where before there was only a mild-mannered News Editor for an obscure college newspaper.
