Quite some time ago I decided that the US Government could or would do little or nothing to pull the nation out of a recession. More along the lines of "would," since to actually DO something would cost a lot more than the politicos are willing to do or spend.

I've always had the problem that I couldn't figure how you got out of debt by spending more money....
