It isn't that they aren't intelligent, Bobert...it's that their intelligence is aimed simply at maintaining and enlarging the position of a very wealthy elite that comprises less than half a percent of the population.

They are quite intelligent...and totally unscrupulous. That's a dangerous combination.

For them to stop playing the isane game they subscribe to would mean...giving up a smidgin of the enormous wealth and power they have. That, they are simply unwilling to do. And they don't figure that they have to.
