Patrish, my 2d worth and this is a general thought of mine that goes for purchasing other instruments too. Set yourself a budget, you know somebody that plays, see if you can set aside some time with him/her and have a wander round music shops. Don't worry too much about makes - if it sounds good and plays well, it is a good instrument. Have them played to you (helps to hear what it sounds like from the other side even if you play) and find something you like the sound of, also apart from listening to the other persons opinion, try them yourself and see how they feel to you.
