Coming in late here, but regards, Terry K, I did a similar thing, though I have less musical background than yours. It turned out great. Went to a place with many guitars, had one favorite song I played on many brands and prices, and sure enough there was one guitar that fell on even my untrained ears like no other. Three years ago and not sorry yet.
