The by now world-famous workshops at La Jeusseliniere in Northern France organised hitherto my Martyn & Dan Wyndham-Read are to be continued under the management of John and Yvonne Hart who are taking over the premises and the practice. More info on http://www.lajeuss.com/ . Furthermore, I will be running a workshop there, this summer:
"SONGWRITING FOR THE UNSUSPECTING" 13th – 18th July 2008 at La Jeusseliniére farm, near Ernée/Fougère, La Mayenne, France
a week-long workshop with yours truly. The course notes say:
"My late-coming to songwriting, its surprising success and my analytical nature led me to delve into the whys and wherefores of what makes a good song, and better still, what makes one write the song he/she has inside, most often unknowingly. In the last few years I heard many beautiful songs penned by ordinary, mostly unknown, people. In combination with my own surprise at my newly-found skills, I am convinced therefore that everyone has the potential to write great songs, and through this course I aim to release that latent talent (hey, that's an anagram!) and help improve it where it has already surfaced."
Please note: Maximum 10 participants!
For enquiries/to book, please contact: John and Yvonne Hart at yj.hart[at]virgin[dot]net or on 07790 553757
Some more info on La Jeuss and its courses, from their website: "La Jeusseliniere is the French farmhouse home of John and Yvonne Hart set in the beautiful Mayenne countryside. During the summer months they welcome folk musicans of all standards to join them for their exceptional Folk Music courses. These are relaxed but informative sessions using specially selected tutors (GP – that'd be me! Don't laugh!). La Jeusseliniere is a magical place where you can learn, meet interesting people and enjoy the joys of music with a grand lunch, a glass or two of wine and good company. For partners who do not wish to partake of the music, art classes are available or the chance just to relax and read a good book".
So, if a week with a fat, burbling Greek, trying to write that elusive song or polish your latest masterpiece is your idea of a good time, hit that keyboard or grab that phone, and contact John and Yvonne. Vanessa will be there too, of course, partaking of the art class opportunities and the sunshine.
