There were a number of "sandpits" converted to swimmin' holes "way back when" and only a few that people I hung out with ever went to more than a couple of them. I don't really remember where some of them were, since the "geography" has changed a lot. Most of the old swimming places have been filled in and are now shopping malls and/or "mobile home parks."

The most memorable incident with bluegill attacks was at Lake Afton "out west" from town - fully and properly clothed for bathing of course, in the approved swimming area. "Sunning" in the shallows resulted in a number of "oral ejaculations" from several people, as the fish apparently were quite hungry that day. "Dangling special bait" is not required if they're active, although they generally left "moving objects" alone.
