Amos is a true master when it comes to wiggling, squirming, and avoiding all responsibility for his errors. He will go to any degree of effort to maintain an untenable position as if it were an unassailable fortress. If he were a worm, it would be very tricky indeed to get him on your hook. A waste of time, in fact.

I feel that the problem is rooted somewhere in his childhood, but it would require much investigation to dredge up from his tortured subconscious the original trauma or traumas that have resulted in his present dysfunction.

And again...it would be a waste of time. I'd rather watch a rubber plant grow, frankly. ;-)
