Thread Name: Tech: Iinternet service providers? UK
Subject: Tech: Iinternet service providers?
I've been using Virgin broadband as my provider for about 3 years now and been satisfied in that it provides what I want. I use the internet a little for research for my teaching work, going to a few folkie sites and pretty basic stuff. I dont download films or music, so I suppose I don't need high download speeds.
I pay around £12 per month to BT for my line rental and £14.99 to Virgin for their services. A total of about £27 per month.
I've been telephone canvassed by Talk-Talk who offer a complete package for £16.99 per month.Free broadband, £10.99 line rental and cheap calls. This has a £30 connection fee and a compulsory 18 month contract.I should point out that I use the phone very little. Has anyone out ther in Mudland any experience of this outfit Talk-talk and know whether they provide a good service? Can anyone inform me of the possible drawbacks to changing over. It looks like I could save myself £10 per month, but will it be worth it in the long run? Any advice appreciated.
Regards
Andy
