Best plane of the war?

Several contenders

Spit (best of teh Brits, much as I love the Defiant)
Focke Wolf (IMHO better than the Messerschmidt)
Grumman Tiger (or maybe the Mustang) for the Yanks
Zero
That curious Japanese hybrid (what was its name?) - a radial engine grafted into a fuselage intended for an inline, looked very odd but turned on a sixpence, great dogfighter)

Then there are the twins -

Mosquito I think beats the Beaufort and Beaufighter
I forget the name of the classic Yank twin
Maybe the best was the Dutch push-pull Focker - turned equally well both ways which gave it a big advantage in combat.

Only one divebomber in it - the Stuka.

Best bomber I think I will go for the Lancaster over the Flying Fortress.

Best Jet? Me 262.
