When the strings are lifted too high from the fretboard, it means the neck needs adjusted. You should be able to find someone who can do that (ask at a music store..they'll know where to get it done if they don't have someone to do it).

It's probably worth it to check into getting the neck adjusted if you like the guitar otherwise.

Trust your own judgement. You have quite a stack of guitars to compare the sound/quality/playability of the Flambeau against and you know what you paid for the ones you have.
