Didn't see Enid at the Westminster Kennel Club dog show, nor any near relatives. So she is definitely not a purebred.

Last night, waking in the middle of the night, I thought I heard a summons-bark different from our dogs or the neighbor dog that is tied outside. "Must be Enid on my back porch!" I thought. Fortunately, before rushing downstairs to freeze my feet and wake the house, I turned off the audiobook in my ear for another listen. "There it is again! Enid!"

But on a further listen, no-- it was just Hardi's gentle snore.

Our kennel's owner says she has known some dogs named Enid, and asked me to describe her. Nope-- she has not met MY Enid, but agreed to keep a watch and let me know if she turns up.

I still think Enid will find ME, so I am not calling around the shelters.
