A glimmer of hope according to the following message just posted by Sue Forde on Folkmob website:

I have been trying to leave a message on the Tudor Barn closure thread on mudcat but for some reason it won't send. So I'll post it here. I had a call from Peter T. yesterday whose friend was at the Barn on Wednesday evening, she was so impressed by our set up and how we run it that she got on the phone the next morning and managed to speak to some executive in the council (I think she has contacts) and she was told that, yes the Barn will be closing for a short period of time, it won't be opening again as a pub but the council want to keep it as a venue for the community. The guy said that they are aware of us (Folkmob) and what we do and the friend said that he intimated that they want us to continue there. Peter has given us the name and phone number of this council guy and Mick is going to try and speak to him today. We are also sending a letter registering our interest in remaining at the barn and asking to be involved in any further discussions regarding the future of the building. If I hear anything else I will let you know. Sue
