The lady who wrote it is Mary O'Brien, who hails from Tourmakeady, County Sligo, and currently lives in Longford Town. Mary has written many songs both country and Irish, which have been recorded by artists like Mick Flavin, Margo, Louise Morrissey, and many others. She wrote a song for me called "I'll Always Love The Girl From Donegal" back in 1996. What a talent.
