The size is the critical issue. If it can fit into the overhead compartment, or under the seat in front of you, there is no problem. Otherwise you are faced with a number of less attractive alternatives:
Having it loaded as "checked luggage"
Paying exrta for its "seat"
Whether such an accordian will fit into your plane's overhead storeage compartment or under the seat in front of you again varies by plane. Perhaps a visit to the airport will answer that question, or not!
