Do Mo Chairde (To My Friends)

I just had to, ya know, take a bit of my time,
To thank all of you 'Cats with a wee bit of rhyme,
For all of your greetings re the day of my birth,
Have me grinning and rolling on the floor with their mirth!

To think that lil ole me caused a synaps in your minds,
And best wishes and poems took up some of your time,
Made a day when I counted grey hairs in the mirror,
Turn a quick one-eight-oh and get better and better!

From the north to the south, the east to the west,
How can I say 'thank you' to the best of the best?
More comfort than candy, more welcome than flowers,
Are the kind thoughts and words from all you Mudcatters!
