Well worth the effort of peeling till clean(or pressure washing?). We tried it half and half with mashed potato and it makes a very superior flavoured mash. Excellent stuff.I'd never tried it till recently when weird lumps of stuff started arriving in the organic box. I was agreeably surprised.
