Subject: RE: BS: Help for Blind/Deaf student
I'll call the school tomorrow and get any information I can. The Lexington School for the Deaf is in my neighborhood and should also be able to provide information and maybe even some contacts her age.

The weather will be hot and humid through September. Dress for it. Long Island has great beaches and easy transportation. Again, I will make some calls re: accomodatuions for the blind and/or deaf. Bathing suit is a must.

LIRR has trains directly into Manhattan. Even the city is pretty casual now but she may want some dresses/skirts for a night out.

If she needs to be met at the airport (and most 21 year olds new to NY do), I live near both Kennedy and La Guardia. Private message me and let me know the dates. Be happy to meet her and get her to the school.

Despite the bad press, New Yorkers are very friendly and help when and where needed. They are also super sensitive to one's need for privacy ( comes from overcrowded living conditions). She will have a wonderful summer.
