O.k., I'm a new iPod owner, and I'm shocked to learn that you can't download from the iPod to the computer. Supposedly one function of the thing is as a backup (I've got 80 gigs): what good is that if you can't retrieve stuff from it?? Or does that only apply to music? (I've not tested any other kind of data stored on it.)
