Sorry - by the time you'd sent that I was over at Cranleigh deep in the throes of their workshop , so didn't get the chance to pass on your greetings... and yes, I agree, their workshops (which I've now been to one or two of) are ALWAYS brilliant.
The mix of singers there was interesting - the last one I went to at the Lewes Arms (hi Valmai - maybe I ought to say here that they're doing a workshop in Lewes, Sussex, in October this year)was composed of mostly folkies. This one was interesting in that the number of people who were from the folk contingent was relatively small. There were quite a few people there from classical and community choirs, one or two people who had been to Lester's show "Standing in Line " which was at the venue a few months ago, quite a few people who had never heard CBS singing etc etc .... and in my case I had with me three friends who have sung in the large local classical choir. As usual they reached all levels of singing experience and/or sight reading ability, and made the day hugely enjoyable.
The concert in the evening was, of course, delivered in their usual inimitable style !!
Liz - sorry about the lack of county... I was not aware that there were any other Cranleigh's in the UK... and thought everyone knew about the existence of Europe's largest village (I still maintain that it's a town .... villages have no right being that big!!)
