Thread Name: Great Line-up In Sheffield March 3rd
Subject: Great Line-up In Sheffield March 3rd
As part of a classical season (Music in the Round) they often have top class folk acts rarely seen elsewhere.
Next Monday March 3rd - is a line up which would fill a huge hall at Celtic Connections. If you get chance come along. (I have no interest in this except to hope that if it fills then they do it again. If it doesn't do well they won't).
Donald Grant - amazing Scottish fiddler - best known for his classical work - but brought up in the tradition near Fort William as a young boy. One of those rare players who do both with amazing expertise and ease.
Catriona McKay. Scottish Traditional Musician of the Year. Has just re-invented the harp and will be playing the new Starfish Harp and her "ordinary" harp.
Jenna Reid - who won the same title in 2005. Astonishing Shetland fiddler.
Fionan de Barra. Stunning Irish Guitar player. Hid first professional gig was with the New York run of Riverdance.
They will be playing solo, duos trio and as a quartet.
Tickets are £14.00 and available from the Crucible Box Office.
