Isn't it great to know that our compulsory television licence tax continues to fund this annual dross fest (and that whacky old Auntie in the UK pays more into this fiasco than most other entrants). It really is time to exit Eurovision (... and axe the television licence). As standards get increasingly worse and voting ever more political we're encouraged to embrace Eurovision as ironic, camp, harmless fun. This is a distraction from the fact it costs so much and that the money could better be spent on presenting music with at least some redeeming qualities.
