Well, Mick, if the Brits want to make C-rat coffee I ain't gonna stop 'em. I ain't gonna drink any more of it either.

Had a 2LT once who had never really experienced C rations. So for a breakfast in the field he chose -- scrambled eggs! He filled his canteen cup with hot water so he could make hot chocolate, and of course that didn't dissolve. He opened the can of eggs and...well, he couldn't take the grayish-yellow so he tossed them. The crackers in the can were crushed to crumbs, the jam was moldy, and even the chocolate bar was too hard to bite into. He took a cigarette from the little pack and all the tobacco fell out the end.

His breakfast consisted of hot water with cocoa powder floating on top and two small pieces of gum, all flavored by the laughter of those around him.
