ahh...I knew it! Take a look at FirstCap. It beeps at you when you hit the capslock key...you control the # of beeps.

Then, it allows you to disable capslock totally...or when using certain programs....or for a specified length of time. It has several other settings.

I just re-downloaded it for this machine and will see if it helps.
