Getting back to the scientific data ~~~ Several years ago I took a test that had to do with the most desirable female body shape (one of the more enjoyable tests that I've ever taken). The test consisted of several female body outlines with the only difference being the ratio of the hips and chest to the waist. I found out later that my answers were the same as men all over the world ~ The ratio of 7/10 was the most desirable (sexy). I applied this same theory to my instruments ~ the results are as follows:Martin D35 Chest 9/10 Hipps 7/10
Gibson ES 125 Chest 8/10 Hipps 6/10
Classical Chest 8/10 Hipps 6/10
Fiddle Chest 8/10 Hipps 6/10
Pretty close eh'!
It was impossible to apply the formula to the banjo's because the bodies are round. I guess the waist would be the diameter however the smallest distance on the linear axis would be zero. If you devide 10 for example by 0 you can see why banjo's are not sexy at all.
