Eva was a rare and beautiful person with an incredible voice. We cherished her here in Maryland and DC, and she was a great loss to her hometown music scene and indeed the whole world.

I never met Eva, she was in another scene, downtown at Blues Alley and hanging out with Chuck Brown. I was uptown in the folk clubs on Wisconsin and Connecticut Aves or the rockabilly night spots. But we all knew about her. We knew she was special.

Tragic loss. If you haven't hear her voice, you've really missed something.
