You don't have to keep your Lenten vows of sacrifice on St. Patrick's Day. That is how we always did it. We were a missionary parish of Ireland. So don't feel guilty if you eat chocolate, drink beer, eat meat, etc. on St. Patrick's day. Now, if it falls on Good Friday I would be somewhat restrained, but I don't think you should fail to celebrate. And remember to do the stations on Good Friday. Plenary indulgence. mg
