How appropriate that this thread should have been revived.
Yesterday, at Loughborough, in the Traditions concert, Martin Carthy came in and sat in the back row next to us. After a while John Howson spotted him and asked him if he would do a 'guest spot'. So Martin stood up where he was and did this song. Wonderful it was.

The poor lad has a really bad cold, but despite this he performed with Waterson Carthy, did an interview at 11 am on Sunday, and was a 'friend' of Martin Simpson last night. What a star.
Hope he is tucked up in his bed today.

So if I go down with a cold, I will tell everyone I have Martin Carthy's cold. ;)
