Sorry, it's a prejudice I picked up after spending an extremely wet week in Llandudno when I was 15. The place was miserable, the inhabitants were miserable and I was miserable. My old man had to drive 50 miles on Sunday so that he could a pint (pre breathalyser) and that made him so miserable that he insisted that I took my sister to watch an awful vaudeville show, where we were the youngest members of the audience by some 50 years.
I've never forgiven the Welsh but don't worry because I feel the same way about the Scots! Flanders and Swan had the right of it!
