I wonder what ever happened to the idea of "Freedom of Speech"? When people are punished when what they say runs counter to the conventional wisdom of the day, a free exchange of ideas is pretty much impossible.

And the thing is that these civil rights are not being eroded by fascist warmongers, or the religious right--it's the Liberals and the Progressives who claim to champion Civil and Human Rights who are the worst offenders.
