With a band or even just one partner you need to also focus on what they're doing & how you're blending in with one another, the more you're playing/singing with the more you need to hear everyone else as well as not be distracted (great for us ADHD performers). I don't know how it is for most but us that are rewired instead of hard wired (including my partner & me) it's normal to be able to listen to 4 conversions, the phone, the radio & the TV & still follow the bouncing ball, actually in our litrtle duo we bounce off each other pretty well. It's really a weakness that we're able to turn into a strength. I don't know if that made sense or if it paints a better picture but it's something like that for me.
