Assuming you are storing them as MP3 and using windows XP or later, you can put a comment against any individual track and edit and display it. Just go to the folder where the music is stored and select its properties. "Customise" it and make sure it is set to the music template. Then open the folder to see the list of tracks and set the display to 'Details'. Right-click on the grey header and you will see the set of things you can display and edit. One of these is 'Comment', and you can put any notes you like.

This sounds far more complicated than it is! Most rippers will set the folder template by default.
