Thread Name: Songs about breakups, breaking up
Subject: RE: What do you say/play when it's over?
I just remembered/rediscovered these over the weekend...1) Waves of the Sea, sung by Heather Heywood "When he turns his back, he's a stranger to me....and I care no more for him than the waves of the sea." Tune's a rousing good march, too. 2) The last bit of Gordon Bok's version of "Wheel of Fortune "I no more to he, nor he to me/than the cool wind blowing o'er my hand." BTW (thread creep) those of you who like Lewis Grizzard-type humor, try Curt Brummett. Works hard to be politically incorrect, but once he stops trying to upset the womenfolk with a few Hillary jokes, and gets down to storytelling, he's one of the funniest writer/storytellers you'll find. (Sample book title "My Dog's a Democrat") His story of the trailer with cowboy plumbing is worth the price of admission by itself (You could tell the plumbing had been put in by a cowboy. The trailer was uphill from the well, and downhill from the septic tank...)
