Saturday may "really" have been St. Patrick's feast day, according to some American Catholic bishops, but I prefer to consider BOTH Saturday (when I paraded with the Uptown Irish on a brilliant sunny day) AND today (when I'm at work 'til five, at which time I'll change clothes and repair to the Kerry Irish Pub, where we'll eventually witness the end of the Downtown Irish night parade) as celebrations of my Irishness, such as it is after a couple of generations in the US.
